Appleseed Alpha

Appleseed Alpha is a Sci-Fi film takes place in an apocalyptic future containing a mixture of weapons from today (released 2014) to futuristic weapons and cyborgs. The film is full CGI animated and has a very realistic feel to it, reminds me of films like Avatar, and contains great animated action sequences. Briareos and Deunan are the main characters of the series and there appearance/what they are goes well with how they are presented in the film.

Briareos is a cyborg and as shown it appears every inch of  him is machine making him look more like a robot, but we are informed he is cyborg. I especially like the design of the head with the multiple cameras which provide him with different range of visions. Also, how the radars with extra cameras to look around corners (very clever designs) sticking out the back of his head look almost like rabbit ears gives him a certain charm for me. His appearance also represents his personality as well since he thinks logically rather then humanly, hence he is like a robot.
Deunan is a normal human, as shown above, and a strong female character as she is the first we see taking on a couple of cyborgs in close combat. She appears rather war ready in her outfit as a soldier girl but not without showing off a bit of skin, as shown above. I believe there is some realism to her appearance such as her short hair cut which wouldn't get in the way while she is in combat and the fact they are practically living in a hot desert. Her being a normal human goes well to the relationship between her and Briareos with him acting logically more then humanly. Deunan would rather act more humanly at the cost of putting the mission at risk as well as feeling sorrow for the death of an ally which Briareos hardy shows any of. She almost acts as a reminder to Briareos to cling onto what's left of his humanity as well as reminds him of hope in their apocalypic world.
